Kicking off another wedding season with Andy and Katie was the perfect start to what I believe will be my best season so far. From the moment I met these two, their love was simply magnetic. Their journey of nine years together led up to the first “best day of their lives” and was nothing short of another perfect wedding that I was honored to be a part of. I left this wedding with my heart fluttering and a smile on my face. This was a huge reminder from God that I am certain that the path I am walking is the one he has planned for me.

Alright, so let’s back track just a little bit. When I first met Andy and Katie I was working full time at my corporate job and juggling a growing photography business. We met at a super cute coffee shop in uptown on a sunny summer day. After chatting and hearing about all the juicy details, I left our meeting with a smile on my face, hoping that I would have the chance to work with these two. As I got in my car, I sat there realizing that at some point I needed to chose. I was juggling two completely different lives and beginning to drown. My department at my corporate job was hitting its peak season and I was working more than fifty-five hour weeks, while also running a growing photography business on the side. I simply could not keep up and was trying so hard to not let it show. Honestly, I wondered if my clients could tell I was burning out after weeks and weeks of sleeping maybe four or five hours a night!

One month ago I made a decision that has changed my life. I left my corporate job in pursuit of something more; I left to fill that feeling in my gut that I had been ignoring for such a long time. That dream I had been dreaming, but continued to make every excuse in the world to not make it real. I left the path of least resistance to walk down the road of full time entrepreneurship. What pushed me? Well, I could honestly sit and chat with you for hours about everything I went through that led to this point, but if I could put it all into one example, I would say that it is because of couples like Katie and Andy that believed in me and trusted me to document one of the most beautiful days of their lives. Even though we had only chatted for a brief time, they left having full faith that I would give them the photos they would look back on for years to come and cherish for the rest of their life. That, my friends, is why I left my guaranteed paycheck to pursue a life that would give me that incredible feeling every single day.

Katie and Andy-thank you for being such an inspiring couple in so many ways. I am so happy for you two as you embark on your new journey together! Your day was as special to you as it was to me and will forever be a special milestone in both of our lives. Cheers!
